Tete Ovalle

Academic Director of Elementary and Middle School Programs

Tete is originally from Chile. She grew up, studied and worked in Chile until 2017, when she moved with her family to North Carolina. After 4 years, she moved to the DR to work as an ESL and elementary teacher.

In 2023, Tete worked for 6 weeks at Mariposa and fell in love with the organization. She has more than 15 years of international teaching experience.

Tete loves to travel, walk on the beach, and is an avid reader. She currently lives in Sosua with her husband, 2 daughters, and 2 cats.
