Yajaira Martinez

Office Manager

Yajaira started her first job in 2006 at The DREAM Project under Patricia Suriel’s leadership and in 2009, followed Suriel to Cabarete Coffee Company where she became the top barista and shop manager. Yajaira also played an active role in the Mariposa Foundation’s early years where she was a founding key staff member. Yajaira is now the office manager at The Mariposa Center for Girls with many years of bookkeeping, accounting, and business management under her belt. Yajaira holds a degree in marketing from UTESA in Puerto Plata and has a daughter, Zoe who attends 3 Mariposa Montessori, the organization's sister school. Yajaira is a great role model for all the Mariposa girls and a shining example of what an empowered young woman can accomplish in her community.
