Rosa Emilia Reyes ‘21

Programs Assistant

Rosa Emilia joined the Mariposa community as a Mariposita at age 11 and graduated from programs when she was 17 years old. A “Mariposa Volando,” Rosa Emilia has re-joined the Mariposa Foundation part time as a Programs Assistant. Born in Puerto Plata and raised in Callejón de Loma, Cabarete, she has lived in Cabarete her entire life. In 2021, Rosa Emilia graduated from Centro de Enseñanza Coral made possible through a scholarship by the Mariposa Foundation and is currently studying General Psychology at UTESA Puerto Plata where she aspires to continue her education and eventually specialize in Clinical Psychology. Rosa Emilia loves watching all of the girls at Mariposa be happy, develop into young women, and succeed in all of the activities they participate in. Seeing the Mariposa girls’ energy and smiles every morning is one of Rosa Emilia’s favorite parts of her job. One of her nieces is also currently enrolled in Mariposa programs. Rosa Emilia enjoys waking up happy, full of energy, and living one day at a time.
