Fernanda Garcia

Programs Coordinator

Born and raised in Cabarete, Fernanda grew up in Callejón de la Loma where she has lived her whole life and is now raising her three children. Although never a Mariposa, Fernanda began working as an Administrative Assistant at the Mariposa Foundation at 16 years old. Fernanda has experience in many roles at the Mariposa Foundation, which is what makes her a perfect Program Coordinator. One of Fernanda’s earliest positions was in 2010 as an Administrative Assistant and from there, Fernanda went on to work in the library, teach math, reading and literature, oversee the inventory, assist in accounting, and teach sports. A natural born teacher, Fernanda’s flexibility and ability to learn, grow, and lead in any role has made her an enormous asset to the Mariposa community.  

At Mariposa, Fernanda enjoys being part of a wonderful team and being able to give back by sharing what she learned with the girls at the Center. She loves watching the Mariposa girls learn and is further empowered by the liveliness and laughter that goes on at the Mariposa Center. Fernanda hopes to be a great example and role model to her three children, the girls at Mariposa and her community.
